March 27, 2008 - Almost 90,000 acres of Montana rangeland, from
six different ranches around the state, have now been added to
the "certified" category of involvement in the nationally unique
UNDAUNTED STEWARDSHIP®
PROGRAM.

and managers of these lands can call themselves “Undaunted Land
Stewards” –participants in the program that is preserving
historic sites along the Lewis and Clark Trail and helping ranch
families improve both the stewardship and the economic
performance of their ranches.

Half a Million Acres of Private Rangeland Added to Certified
“Undaunted Land Stewards”
June 23,
2006 -
Almost
500,000 acres of privately-owned Montana rangeland, from 19
different ranches around the state, have now been added to the
“certified” category of involvement in the nationally unique
Undaunted Stewardship®
program, bringing the total amount of private rangeland
certified to be using state-of-the-science stewardship to
approximately 1.5 million acres, it was announced today..

Eagle Butte
Farms, of Fort Benton, is among the latest farms and ranches in
Montana to be named an “Undaunted Land Steward” in the national
award-winning Undaunted Stewardship program. Eagle Butte Farms
is one of six operations, collectively totaling nearly 90,000
acres, to earn this status, it was announced today

Phillips County Boasts More Certified “Undaunted Land
Stewards”Than Any Other County in Montana
Ten ranches
in the Phillips County area have qualified for certification in
the national award winning program Undaunted
Stewardship®-significantly more than any other county in
Montana, it was announced today by Christie Messer, Undaunted
Stewardship Public Outreach Coordinator and Communications
Coordinator for the Montana Stockgrowers Association.

June 17, 2005, Great Falls Tribune - Tourism and ranching leaders
were tickled Thursday at how well a major Lewis and Clark overlook
just south of Great Falls turned out. On a bluff above the green,
rolling Ayrshire Dairy, the site features six educational kiosks
on a gentle, half-block walk that spell out the importance of
the explorers' Upper Portage Camp just below.

Volunteer partnerships make program work
October 10, 2004, Billings Gazette - Former President Bill Clinton
and his secretary of the Interior, Bruce Babbitt, were the inspiration,
in a negative sort of way, for the Undaunted Stewardship® program.
Near the end of his second term, Clinton established several
national monuments, including the Missouri Breaks in Montana,
which had been suggested for such status by Babbitt. Read

of privately-owned agricultural landscapes, especially in areas
rich in history along the Lewis & Clark Trail in Montana.
