Award-winning Montana program promotes naturally sustained productivity on rangelands:

  • Preserves historic sites on private ranchland, especially along the Lewis & Clark Trail
  • Improves and “certifies” the quality of stewardship on vast privately-owned rangelands
  • Supports rural economies, partly by helping ranches diversify their operations
  • Conducts public education to encourage stewardship and promote ranching
  • Nationally unique public-private partnership.
